Faith Formation at Central

We seek to develop the faith formation of our members across all generations by bringing to life sacred stories and traditions in worship, proclamation, witness, and education.

Children, Youth, & Young Families

Kids Space

Kids Space is the place where your children can make “this faith [their] own!”
Because we believe that children are already part of the church, we’ve made a space just for them in our beautiful sanctuary. In this space, led by a volunteer, kids can engage all their senses in worship with crafts, stories, and conversation.
In addition to the space in the sanctuary, there is also a nook outside the sanctuary with rocking chairs, books, toys, and carpet. We invite you to use that space too. There’s even a speaker so that you can keep track of what’s happening in the Sanctuary! Learn More About Kids Space?

Youth

Middle and High school students are busy(and so are their parents)!
We offer a space for youth to “dip-in” and dive-deeper into their faith exploration through breakfast conversations, volunteer opportunities, and leadership opportunities in the church. Check the events calendar for updates!

Third Place: 20s & 30s Ministry

Third Place is a small community for anyone in our congregation ages 20-39 (or who still feels that age at heart). We try to meet monthly for a shared meal and faith formation. That may include a book group, bible study, exploring faith through tv, and just holding space for one another at Central. Check our events calendar for information on our next gathering, or reach out to Rev. Thomas!

Adults of All Ages

A favorite hymn of our congregation “Won’t You Let Be Your Servant” includes the line: we are pilgrims on a journey…

Our faith in our youth may not match our faith as we age! Central offers various opportunities throughout the year to continue your faith journey! We have three long-running classes + a handful of new groups that pop-up throughout each year.

Lunch & Learn
Bible Study

Lunch & Learn meets every Monday from 12-1pm. The class reads and discusses the lectionary texts for each week.  Conversation is informal, educational, inclusive, and an enrichment of the worship experience.  To receive email notices, contact office@central-ucc.

Practical Theology

A Just Peace Covenant Community Class studies, explores and takes action on current issues.  We are an energetic group, ready to study, discuss and act. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

New Perspectives

This study and discussion class is built on DVD series such as Great Courses lectures by Dr. Bart Ehrman and “Living the Questions” interviews with Marcus Borg, John Dominick Crossan, and others. Please email Nancy W. for more information.
