Performing at 7:00 — Ginger & Cameron Kane
In the early days, Ginger and Cameron performed as a duo at Lena’s Place, then pivoted to children’s music when they had two young sons. In the mid-nineties they recorded an album of original lullabies titled Baby, Sweet Baby. These two have eclectic musical interests and will be bringing everything from jazz standards to protest songs, a little Western Swing, some hard core folkies and some seventies ballads. We hope there will be something for everyone in this set!
Performing at 8:00 — Celia McDermott & Phil Rosenthall
Celia –
A native of Boston, Celia McDermott’s philosophy of singing is to get inside the song and sing it from the deepest place of her soul, until her toes buzz.
An early love of singing, encouraged by her Barbershop singing Dad, landed her at Berklee College of Music to study vocals and arranging.
After Berklee, she performed throughout the Boston, New York and Atlanta areas for years in many various groups featuring many styles of music. She spent years as an assistant choir director, as well as directing and singing in “Cheaper Than Therapy”, an all-women a cappella group. She has been a featured singer on many recordings since being in Atlanta.
Celia had the honor and thrill to be a soloist for several years with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s gospel choir. One of her favorite places to play throughout all of her years in Atlanta has been Lena’s Place! She’s excited to return and be playing with Phil Rosenthal.
Phil-
Phil lives in Marietta and plays regularly locally and also in North Carolina, northern Florida, California, Texas and Canada with various groups and as a solo performer. In addition to performing covers of other writers’ songs, he also does his own originals. His preferences for music range from old time rock to folk/folk rock, blues, classic country and western “cowboy.” He is a U.S. Army veteran.
